Technical Business Development Executive (Colchester)

Responsibilities

Reports to: SME Sales Manager

This role will be based in Colchester but will involve travel to customer sites. These will predominantly be in the East Anglian and London areas. The post-holder will be required to develop solution opportunities, new business, leverage existing accounts and follow up leads and other business opportunities, including:

  • Meeting agreed monthly sales targets
  • Understand customer requirements
  • Provide sound IT solutions to meet customers business needs
  • Arranging customer appointments based on monthly targets
  • Representing the company to pitch for IT projects. Good PowerPoint & Visio skills an advantage
  • Follow up leads from marketing campaigns
  • To establish and maintain a pipeline of opportunities
  • Cross functional interaction with administration and engineering/development teams to ensure that all orders are processed smoothly and efficiently
  • To work as part of a sales team
  • To collect market feedback on clients, leads, competition and promotions.
  • Proactive after sales customer management

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

The post-holder must be able to demonstrate that they have a successful IT Solutions sales track record and have a strong technical knowledge. In particular dealing with a range of products and services including Microsoft, Linux, networking, firewalls, security, support and experience of upgrading systems and equipment, as well as software/web development sales experience.

The position requires:

  • determination, ability to communicate with the right people both in writing and verbally – an ability to communicate free of IT jargon a distinct advantage
  • The ability to understand the nature of the clients’ business and their IT project needs
  • Ability to recognise opportunities and act on them.
  • Good organisational and problem solving skills
  • Be self motivated and resilient.
  • Have excellent customer facing skills
  • Previous experience of developing pipelines and forecasts
  • Be a team player

Remuneration would be commensurate with experience & qualifications.
