Global Voluntary Battery Pack Replacement Program by Sony

In September 28, 2006 Sony announced a replacement program for certain battery packs for notebook computers.

"As we have stated, we have no evidence that the overheating issue that has occurred in Dell and Apple computers associated with Sony batteries is present in Toshiba notebook computers.

However, in order to ensure customers' confidence in using our computers, we are planning to cooperate with Sony to initiate a voluntary replacement program of battery packs installed in the computers listed below:

• Tecra M3/M4/M5/M7
• Tecra S3
• Tecra A2/A3X
• Portégé S100
• Portégé M300/M400
• Satellite R10/R20
• Satellite U200
• Satellite A50
• Satellite Pro U200
• Qosmio G30
• Qosmio F30
