2. NEW FEATURES & PRODUCTS FROM CENTENNIAL SOFTWARE

Discovery.Visual *

Sometimes the easiest way to understand something is to see it with your own eyes. From a general overview of the entire network, down to understanding PCs at the component level, Discovery.Visual* helps IT staff, managers and executives fully scope and understand their IT estate by dynamically presenting all discovered assets in a graphical format.

This enables users to quickly assess the relationships between PCs and switches; compare the status of machines; determine the extent of software deployments and much more. With the adage that 'a picture paints a thousand words', Discovery.Visual helps managers:

  • Make better IT decisions
  • Full network visualization based on an accurate and dynamic view of the current network status enables faster and better IT decisions.

  • Plan migrations, upgrades and capacity forecasts
  • Plan and monitor IT projects visually - use color-codes to follow the progress of projects and spot potential problems before they impact on delivery

  • Manage IT service optimization and risk mitigation
  • Identify the possible impact of network changes and systems downtime; immediately access user, software and configuration data on all PCs and hardware assets

Discovery.Visual is based on standard Microsoft Visio technology, and as such no special training or skills are required beyond an understanding of the Visio interface.

*Discovery.Visual is included in the Centennial Discovery ''Enterprise Edition' or can be purchased separately to work with any supported version of Discovery. Contact us for more details on 01635 567773 or email: info@samsolutionstlc.com

Discovery.Dashboard

Centennial Discovery in 2006 features a completely re-designed web interface, boasting a wide range of intuitive reports and drill-down features that satisfy the IT intelligence needs of administrator and executive stakeholders across the organization.

Each user can create their own Discovery.Dashboard home page, with a selection of graphs that best suit their job function - whether it is managing software license compliance, security, procurement or any other IT governance function.

Logically-grouped reports give users instant access to both graphical overviews and the ability to drill-down directly into detailed information about each asset on the network. Certain reports in the Discovery.Dashboard have been designed in conjunction with bodies such as the BSA and SIIA to satisfy their audit and reporting requirements.

The Discovery.Dashboard is ideal for devolved reporting, where multiple stakeholders in different Organizational Units can access the information relevant to their area of operations without any fear of compromising the asset repository.

The Discovery.Dashboard is W3C-compliant for use with most common internet browsers.
